How does the DebtBusters Refer & Earn programme work?

As a debt counselling client, you can refer friends, family members, colleagues, or anyone you believe could benefit from debt counselling by sharing your unique referral link. If the person uses the referral link to register with DebtBusters, signs up for debt counselling, and makes their first debt repayment, you and the person you referred will receive R1,500 each.

Where do I get my referral link?

You can access your referral link on the DebtBusters platform.

What are the benefits of referring someone?

You and the person you refer will earn R1,500 each if the referral is successful.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To participate in the Refer & Earn programme as a referrer, you must:

1. Be a legal resident of South Africa.
2. Be at least 18 years of age.
3. Have a registered bank account and provide proof of residence (FICA).
4. Have a registered DebtBusters profile, and
5. Be an active DebtBusters client (be up to date on all debt counselling repayments).

What are the criteria for a successful referral?

The referred person must use your referral link to register on the DebtBusters platform. The referred person must sign up for debt counselling with DebtBusters. The referred person must make their first debt repayment with DebtBusters.

How do I submit a referral?

Simply log in to DebtBusters and share your referral link with the person you want to refer. Your referral will be deemed successful once they complete the qualifying actions noted above.

How many referrals will I be paid for?

You will be paid for up to five (5) successful referrals a month. You will not earn anything extra for any further referrals within the same month. You can earn up to R7,500 a month.

When and how do I get paid?

You will be paid within 30 business days of a successful and eligible referral. The money will be paid to you and the referred person into the bank accounts you each provided to DebtBusters when signing up for debt counselling.

Can I refer myself?

No, self-referrals are not allowed.

Why haven’t I received my referral reward?

If the referred person has completed all necessary actions, and your referral details are correct, please contact our support team by emailing csu@debtbusters.co.za or calling 086 999 0606.

Will the person I referred know that I referred them?

Only insofar as you will have sent them your referral link.

What happens if I’m married in community of property (COP)?

If you’re married in Community of Property (COP), the referring spouse will be rewarded for every unique and successful referral. Each spouse will be rewarded for up to five (5) successful referrals a month. You will not be rewarded for the same referral.

How can I participate?

To refer a friend and start earning, share the unique referral link provided on your DebtBusters profile dashboard. The person you referred must use your referral link to register, sign up for debt counselling with DebtBusters, and make their first debt repayment, for the referral to be eligible.
